THE PRESIDENCY COLLEGE STUDENT'S UNION
 
AIMS AND FUNCTIONS
 

The aim of the Presidency College Students Union is to impart training to the students of the college in organization, leadership and public speaking meetings to be addressed by distinguished persons and debates to encourage students participation shall be arranged under the auspices of the Union

 

MEMBERSHIP

 

All the students on rolls of the college shall be the members of the Union. They shall be entitled to take part in debates and in the election of the office-bearers of the Union and to enjoy all the facilities which the union may provide from time to time. Members of the staff may take part in the meetings and debates under the auspices of the Union but shall not be entitled to vote in the elections of the office bearers of the Union.

The Principal shall be the Patron of the College Union and the student office – bearers shall be:

1. President
2. Vice President, and
3. 2 Secretaries, one of whom shall be a lady student.

The office bearers of the union shall be elected by all the members of the union through system of direct election

 

DEPARTMENTAL ASSOCIATIONS

 
Each department has an association with the Head of the Department as its president and student representatives as Secretary and Joint Secretary.

The departmental association carry out the academic activities of the department like seminars, workshops etc
 
ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
 

The college also has an athletic association which encourages athletic and sports activities

 

THE PRESIDENCY COLLEGE OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION

 

1. The Name of the Association is the Presidency College Old Student’s Association.

2. The objects of the Association shall be

a. To provide a Club and other addition organization by means of which the old students of the College may keep in touch with the college and with one another.

b. To provide opportunities for the old students to take part in athletic and social activities of the College.

c. To assist the management of the College by the award for prizes or scholarship or to render such other financial assistance to forward the interest of the college as may be decided by the Association from time to time.

d. To further such other objects as the Association may decide.

3. The Association shall provide facilities in the college for the participation in competitions in the following: Table-Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Foot Ball, Hockey, Cricket and athletics for Men and Table-Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Net Ball and athletics for women.
